Robert Pate - Chairman

Robert Pate is the pastor of Bible Community Baptist Church in Ames, IA.   He is the chairman of the Iowa Baptist fellowship. 

Robert has been married to his dear wife, Renae and they have four adult daughters. He graduated from Baptist Bible College,  Luther Rice Seminary, and Liberty Baptist Seminary.

Robert has a great love for the Bible and teaching its truths to others, and he desires to see the other churches in Iowa being blessed as they serve our Savior and Lord.

Ed Matthews-
State Treasurer

Ed grew up near Detroit Michigan as 1 of 16 children. He is a graduate of Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri.  He married Deborah Gilbert in 1983 and has 3 adult children, Jenna, David, and Luke. He also has 3 grandsons, Gabriel, Brantley, and Bryer. He has served for 11 years as Music and Youth Pastor at churches in Michigan and Pennsylvania. 

Before coming to Iowa, he served as Senior Pastor at Faith Baptist Church in Brown City, Michigan for 7 years. He is currently serving as Senior Pastor at Bible Baptist Church of Ottumwa and is going into his 18th year.  He has served as President for the Iowa Baptist Bible Fellowship and as Secretary of the Michigan Baptist Bible Fellowship. He currently serves as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Iowa Baptist Bible Fellowship.

Ed’s hobbies include golf, home improvement projects, substitute teaching and spending time with his family.

Shane Rader

Shane Rader is an associate pastor at Heartland Baptist Church in Ames, IA.   He is the web administrator of the Iowa Baptist fellowship. 

Shane married Christen on August 23, 2008. They have two children, Colton and Sadie Ann.  Shane graduated from Baptist Bible College.  Shane has worked as the Director of Student Ministries for West Division, served as youth pastor at Temple Baptist Church in Lubbock, TX. At the end of July in 2016, he and family moved to Iowa to start working at Heartland Baptist Church.
